Pepsico Machine Safety Validation
Objectives
TEG Risk’s growing reputation in machine safety meant that TEG was selected to undertake independent Safety Review of a 14 robot packing system bound for Riyahd, Saudi Arabia.
TEG Risk’s Functional Safety qualifications allow it to carry out the safety review in accordance with the international ISO EN 13849 standard on functional safety. This is particularly relevant given the machine will be located in Saudi Arabia where AS4024 is not relevant. TEG Risk is also experienced in the use of ISO and EN Machine Safety Standards for Safety Validations. In this instance the key standard was ISO 10218 – Robots.
TEG Risk has an extensive library of these international and European Machine Safety Standards. These are an invaluable resource for determining what ‘All Practical Steps’ might be when AS4024 does not give specific advice.
