Goodman Fielder Spiral Cooler

Objectives

TEG project managed the installation of a new spiral cooler at Goodman Fielder largest bakery. The project scope included tray cleaning and product handling conveyors to two packing lines.

Challenges

  • In a daily fresh bakery environment it was not possible to shut the plant for any length of time so the spiral cooler was built outside of the factory and skated into place during a 24 hour shut-down.

Results

The shut-down was undertaken over a 24 hour period and had the line up and running on time. Greatly improved product handling meant that packing operation was simplified and at a later date could be automated. Furthermore the plastic modular belt employed in the spiral cooler provided improved hygiene which eliminated black-spotting of the product.
